This is an easy to make, delicious, salty, sweet and creamy dish.... some call it salad, some call it dessert. I serve it as a light dessert. It is surprisingly delicious. It consists of bottom layer of crust made with pretzels, butter and sugar, middle layer with cream cheese and top layer with fruit and jello. Here is how you make it..
Crust
Ingredients:
- 2 cup crushed pretzels sticks
- ¾ cup melted butter
- 3 tbl spoon sugar
Method:
- Mix together and press into bottom of 9x13 pan.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 7 minutes. Cool completely.
Cream Cheese Layer
Ingredients:
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar or half a can of condensed milk
- 1 (12 oz.) container of whipped topping
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Juice for 1 fresh juicy lime
Method:
- Beat together cream cheese and sugar or condensed milk, vanilla, lime juice, then fold in whipped topping.
- Spread on top of cooled pretzel crust.
Jello Layer
Ingredients:
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. raspberry jello
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 pkg. frozen unsweetened raspberries (10 oz each)
- 1 small can crushed pineapple (do not drain)
Method:
- Dissolve jello in hot water.
- Add frozen raspberries and crushed pineapple.
- Let set in fridge until syrupy, but not completely set.
- Spread over cream cheese mixture and let jello salad set in fridge before serving.
- You can make this with strawberries too.
